Spending is an everyday attitude of living. As a matter of fact, ever since the conception of life in this planet earth, each and everyone of us haven't gone a day without spending. The only difference is the magnitude of our spending and what we are spending. It should be understood that most times, what we are spending might not necessarily be money directly but rather indirectly, it can be money. Spending is simply the exchange of one thing to another but in this context we are going to dwell much more on the real sense of spending which is money and it's connection with poverty.
A well thought taken in and absorbed about the nature of living of an average man, it is understandable that we are insatiable in nature and so we always like comfortability and making the desirables available once what it takes to make it happen surrounds us. It isn't enough to know that we love comfort rather it's enough to understand that to a much greater extent, what we want to be comfortable are in limited supply so to get it before others we have to work hard so as to be able to spend on them as we wish.
The publicity of our wants have long run taken a new dimension such that we literally have what we need at our doorstep once we have the money to spend on them. Being on social media alone creates enough publicity such that only having a thought of what we want to purchase and searching for it a bit, different tastes of what we want are being showcased both in video and non video form. Watching of reels, writeups of what we want to purchase, and different standards of what we want to spend on are being published. With inference to this, the urge to spend on these needs and wants would be there and we would be faced with a serious deliberation so as not to overspend.
Materialism and the Impact of Technology in Extravagant Spending
Very few understand that what technology has for us is yet to fully unfolded and regardless of what we have seen technology do at the moment, there is a better version of it coming in the future. Currently we can see that some products made available already have multiple versions of it, some are of improved functionalities while some are just as change of company, so to one that is extravagant in spend and is been controlled that much from what materialism is all about, would get all the products from nearly all the companies not just for the use of them but for handling of the products.
There is nothing wrong with purchasing different types of products so as to easy stress and help living but once it enters the extent of being interested with all the products available regardless of if it is needed for use or not, then that's when one is extravagant in spending which has a cold connection with poverty.
Furthermore, when one is too materialistic, being controlled by it, there are big chances that such person would spend beyond his means and by doing doing inviting debts, delete resources that suppose to serve him, in-cure high fees with penalties and interest that was suppose to serve the person and the person been set to be in cold connection with poverty.
Remember financial freedom isn't just about having the capacity the earn more than others but rather having the ability to control and manage wisely what is made available. Let's discuss below in the comment section, have you been a victim of extravagant lifestyle, if so, how did you get over it?
