I've always been a movie buff for as long as I can remember. However, I have never had much experience as a movie reviewer. But if I figure if I managed to survive Creative Writing in the English department back in college I can pull anything off. Then again, it has been a few years since college!
Last night I decided to re-watch a movie I had seen back March on Disney+, I recalled having enjoyed it but couldn't remember much about it. I guess my memory may not be the steel trap it once was... The movie is called Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. It stars comedy legend Vince Vaughn, James Marsden, and the talented Eiza Gonzalez. You will notice from the movie poster that Vince Vaughn is listed twice, there is a reason for that which I'll explain in a moment.
The premise of the movie is that mob boss Sosa is celebrating his son's release from prison with an all night party. However, there is a rat in his organization who sent his son to prison in the first place and he is determined to get vengeance. Here enters Nick, played by Vince Vaughn, who happens to be very unhappily married (and very unfaithfully) to Alice (Eiza Gonzalez.) The unhappy Alice enters into an affair with Mike (James Marsden) who is Nick's former work partner. To get revenge Nick outs Mike as the rat knowing full well he isn't truly the guilty party. Mike is killed and Nick falls into s spiral of guilt and depression.
That is until one day he discovers one of the marks who owes him money has build a time machine. He uses it to travel back to the day Mike was killed in order to save his life. Thus, the second Nick. Nick from the future along with Mike kidnap the present day Nick to keep him from spoiling the plan. They tie him up and stuff him in the car trunk as seen below, and the elevator scene soon after.

The night is then spent trying to keep the hitman from killing Mike. They do succeed in the effort, but still have to deal with mob boss Sosa and his son Jimmy Boy, along with the whole organization.

Mob boss Sosa played by great actor Keith David

Stephen Root, one of my favorite actors, even has a great cameo!
That's when the real action starts, and for any fan of action movies you will not be disappointed. I won't give away any big spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie yet, but it's well worth the 107 minutes of running time.
To sum it up the movie has a bit of everything, comedy, love triangles, action, and even sci fi with time travel. Overall it was even more enjoyable the second time I watched it. I would give it a score of 80/100, because there were a few things that could have been improved. But that is true with just about every movie. This is a very fun watch that I would recommend to anyone who who enjoys action comedies. Then even a fun sci fi twist!

That wraps up my review of Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below and thanks for all of your support! Enjoy your weekend everyone!
