When I read about AJ Styles getting injured, I got that feeling of inevitability. AJ's 47 and has been defying time for years, but this Lisfranc injury doesn't feel the same, like it's not the kind of thing he bounces back from, not at his age anyway.
I remember seeing running backs get wrecked from this injury, Cam Newton being taken out of the game by it.

He's not fighting age, he's fighting reality. As I watched him hobble off on crutches, I wondered whether this was it: Are we watching the last of arguably one of the greatest performers ever?
I don't want to say it, but "I'm cooked" doesn't sound like a guy ready for one last championship run. It's Sad. Maybe the body just knows when it's time. Feels like that time might be now for AJ Styles. I really hope not though!
