In my cupboard there is sago pearls. Usually this sago pearl is made into a drink by my wife and it is one of her favorite drinks but this time I will process this sago pearl into a delicious cake and it is very easy to make and this cake can also be said as a cake that is anti-fail just like I make my puddings in the previous recipes. And this sago pearl cake is very good for digestion especially for people who have ulcers.

1. 50 grams of pearl sago

2. ½ teaspoon of salt
3. ¼ teaspoon of powdered food coloring if you don't have it you can use liquid food coloring and the measurements can be adjusted

4. 100 grams of grated coconut and the condition is not too old

5. 5 tablespoons of rice flour and 1 tablespoon of tapioca flour and I put this together in one container

6. 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. in this recipe I want the resulting cake to not be too sweet and have a savory taste from the coconut and salt that I mix. However, if you want a cake that has a sweeter taste then add 1 more tablespoon of sugar to it then that's more than enough.

1. I boil 250 ML of water or 2 glasses in a pan. After boiling, I put the sago pearls into the pan, stir for about 1 minute, then add the food coloring. Then stir again until evenly distributed until the sago pearls thicken slightly and the food coloring is evenly distributed. After that, remove and discard the water and I use a strainer.

2. After that, what I do is mix the flour into the same container as the grated coconut

3. Then mix the salt and sugar. It can be done sequentially or at the same time

4. The last ingredient I put in is the sago pearls that I drained earlier.

5. When all the ingredients are in, stir until everything is evenly distributed and there are no lumps of sago pearls. In this process, there is no need to add water at all. The dough will dry as seen in the picture.

6. After the dough is finished being stirred, I take some molds and put the dough into the molds. When putting it into the mold, press it a little but it doesn't need to be too dense because when it is steamed, the dough will thicken by itself.

7. Oh yes, while I was making this, I heated the steamer. After it was hot and all the dough had entered the mold, then I put it all into the steamer and steamed it over medium heat for about 10 minutes just to cook the flour and compact the dough.

8. After 10 minutes, the sago pearl cake is ready. Wait for it to cool slightly when removed from the mold and the result. As seen in the picture.

The dense and chewy texture of the pearl sago. The taste that is not too sweet and savory makes my cake according to my and my wife's expectations, this cake is very suitable for drinking tea in the afternoon or for breakfast in the morning. The color is very beautiful, right? And this is one of my favorite cakes because it is very easy to make. You should try my recipe. Greetings from Tomi Diwirja, Indonesia
