A necessary introduction
One of the things I am most grateful to my parents for is that they instilled in me a passion for books. My father always told me that, in books, you could find a wealth of knowledge that you often didn't learn in school.
Like everyone, reading tastes change, since most of us begin our journey through this world with adventure books. We find ourselves among wizards, searching for treasure, saving princesses or doing the common good.
Afterwards, our literary tastes adapt to our interests and professional tastes and we specialize in one or two areas of knowledge.
Once again, I thank @ericvancewalton for a topic that takes me back to the happy past that was my childhood and that I am so grateful for today.
In this publication I will take you on a tour of my favorite books and I hope you enjoy this work.
The first years
In the first years of my life my favorite book was “The Golden Age” by José Martí, a well-known Cuban author. When I have been asked why I like this book so much, I always say that it is a complete book, that Martí wrote for all children and in his prologue he says: “We work for children, because children are the ones who know how to love, because “Children are the hope of the world”
In this book you will find readings in which you address the history of some cultures of our countries, you will read passages about the history of heroes of our continent, topics ranging from selfishness, greed to the best feelings that people should have are discussed. children and human beings.
However, among all the stories and stories that appear in the book, there is one that, many of us, stole our hearts: Meñique.
In this story, Martí tells us the story of a fight between Meñique, a boy who fights against a giant whom he manages to defeat using intelligence. He leaves us with a lesson: Intelligence surpasses strength and the importance of doing good for evil.
Other books
As I grew older, literary tastes changed until in high school they taught us the book “The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote de la Macha.”
This text changed my perception of life and I liked it because of how much it has contributed to my personality. Among the things that I have always valued and that have marked me the most are the fight for an idea that I want, the importance of not believing in impossible things and fighting, if necessary, against windmills, to achieve my goals, the importance of friendship and the value of it personalized in the squire Sancho Panza who knew how to understand his friend the nobleman Don Quixote of la Mancha.
But, the book addresses human nature, its miseries and qualities and shows us through fiction the true history of society that goes beyond the beauty that appears in books.
In the book, they show us an idyllic relationship between Dulcinea and Don Quixote and, beyond Don Quixote's follies, it shows us the importance of love in human relationships.
A final comment
The books you read in your childhood plant the foundation and the bug of reading in your personality. Thanks to those first books you discover the most beautiful thing that can appear in texts: A world full of knowledge and a window to the universe that you begin to discover when you are a child.
Those first books are like our family because many times their characters become our heroes and role models. That is why this initiative plays such an important role in the development of personality, since, many times, books teach us the way we appreciate life and the way to behave.
We do not all have the same literary tastes, but all of us who have walked through the pages of universal literature have the same feelings for that pleasure that only a good read can give.

Una introducción necesaria
Una de las cosas que más agradezco a mis padres es que me inculcaran la pasión por los libros. Mi padre me decía siempre que, en los libros, podrías encontrar un caudal de conocimientos que muchas veces no aprendías en la escuela.
Como todos, los gustos por la lectura van cambiando, pues, la mayoría comenzamos nuestro andar por este mundo con libros de aventuras. Nos encontramos entre magos, en búsqueda de tesoros, salvando princesas o haciendo un bien común.
Después, nuestros gustos literarios se van acomodando a nuestros intereses y gustos profesionales y nos especializamos en una o dos áreas del conocimiento.
De nuevo, agradezco a @erickvancewalton por un tema que me lleva hacia el pasado feliz que fue mi infancia y que tanto agradezco hoy.
En esta publicación les haré un recorrido por mis libros favoritos y, espero que disfruten de este trabajo.

En los primeros años de mi vida mi libro favorito era “La Edad de Oro” de José Martí, autor cubano de gran notoriedad. Cuando me han preguntado por qué me gusta tanto, este libro, siempre abordo que es un libro completo, que Martí hizo para todos los niños y en su prólogo dice: “Para los niños trabajamos, porque los niños son los que saben querer, porque los niños son la esperanza del mundo”
En este libro vas a encontrar lectura en los que abordas la historia de algunas culturas de nuestros países, leerás pasajes sobre la historia de héroes de nuestro continente, se tratan temas que van desde el egoísmo, la avaricia hasta los mejores sentimientos que deben tener los niños y seres humanos.
Sin embargo, entre todos los cuentos e historias que aparecen en el libro, hay uno que, a muchos, nos robó el corazón: Meñique.
En este cuento, Martí nos narra la historia de una lucha entre Meñique, un niño que lucha contra un gigante al que logra derrotar utilizando la inteligencia. Nos deja una enseñanza: La inteligencia supera a la fuerza y la importancia de hacer el bien por el mal.

En la medida que fui creciendo cambiaron gustos literarios hasta que en la escuela secundaria nos enseñaron el libro “El ingenioso hidalgo Don Quijote de la Macha”
Este texto cambió mi percepción de la vida y me gustó por lo mucho que le ha aportado a mi personalidad. Entre las cosas que siempre he valorado y que más me han marcado están la lucha por una idea que quiera, la importancia de no creer en imposibles y luchar, si es necesario, contra molinos de vientos, para alcanzar mis objetivos, la importancia de la amistad y el valor de ella personalizada en el escudero Sancho Panza quien supo entender a su amigo el hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha.
Pero, el libro aborda la naturaleza humana, sus miserias y cualidades y nos muestra mediante la ficción la verdadera historia de la sociedad que va más allá de la belleza que aparecen en los libros.
En el libro, nos muestran una relación idílica entre Dulcinea y Don Quijote y, más allá de las locuras del Quijote, nos muestra la importancia del amor en las relaciones humanas.
Un comentario final
Los libros que lees en tu infancia siembran la base y el bichito de la lectura en tu personalidad. Gracias a esos primeros libros descubres lo más hermoso que puede aparecer en los textos: Un mundo lleno de conocimientos y una ventana al universo que comienzas a descubrir cuando eres un niño.
Esos primeros libros son como nuestra familia porque muchas veces sus personajes se convierten en nuestros héroes y modelos de actuación. Por eso, esta iniciativa juega un papel tan importante en el desarrollo de la personalidad, pues, muchas veces, los libros nos enseñan la manera en como apreciamos la vida y la manera de comportarnos.
No todos tenemos los mismos gustos literarios, pero, todos los que hemos andado por las páginas de la literatura universal tenemos los mismos sentimientos por ese placer que solo lo puede dar una buena lectura.
