Hello, dear Hive Diy community! I hope you are having a great day today.
Hello, community friends! I hope you’re having a great day. Today, I want to share an illustration of my favorite Pokémon, Urshifu, with you all. I’m not used to drawing Pokémon, but I gave it my best shot. I’m super proud of how it turned out, and I think I’ll set it as my phone wallpaper. Now, let’s go through the step-by-step process.
PROCESO | PROCESS
- First, I created a rough sketch based on the idea I had in mind: I wanted the final evolution standing tall and commanding respect, while the initial form appeared seated and as cute as possible.
- Once the concept was set, I created the detailed line art and then a gray base layer for both figures.

- With the base layer ready, I colored the final form. After applying the base colors, I grouped all the layers into a folder and started adding details on top. To do this, I created a new layer with a "clipping mask" set to "Multiply" mode to place the base shadows.
- Then, I created another layer in "Overlay" mode to add subtle highlights that help bring the image to life. After that, I added one more layer—this time in "Normal" mode—to add some highlights to the fur.
- Finally, I merged all the character's color layers into one and set it to "Color Overlay" mode to increase the contrast and make the colors pop.

- Once the coloring for the final form was finished, I repeated the same process for the little one.
- Finally, over both colored figures, I added a new layer with a texture—also set to "Color Overlay"—which gives it a more rustic feel and prevents the illustration from looking too flat.

¡Y listo!
