Jack Dorsey has shared some more details about his decentralized Twitter project Blue Sky Social App
Under the protocol, user identity will be handled by domain names in the AT protocol, such as “@alice.com.” These would then map to cryptographic URLs which will secure the users’ account and its data.
What is also interesting is that the user will be able to choose his algorithm(s)!
What is an open algortihm?
“an open market of algorithms,” similar to the way that users interacting with Web search engines are free to select their indexers.
It is supposed to give back power to the user to decide what it would like to see.
Beta is ongoing
Beta just started and they have now closed the beta-testing admissions. The “temporary limit on mailing signups” should reopen soon. Let me know if anyone is participating.
In any case, any new decentarlized media coming up with an innovative system and especially one backed by the Twitter's CEO has all my attention!
