It's a beautiful day! Here I am with a crochet project and this time around, it's the #diybees contest.
Making this project made me realize I haven't seen Honey Bee in a while "like for the longest time" I can't remember the last time or "maybe I haven't seen it at all" Hehe!!.
With the spirit of celebrating International Honey Bee Day, I decided to make a bee using yarns. Before beginning the project, I thought the patterns were gonna be difficult but then to my greatest surprise, they weren't. I'm not gonna lie, this is one of the simplest projects I've ever done.
Materials used
Yarns ( colors: yellow, white, and black)
Crochet needle
Scissors
Sewing needle
Cotton wool
Step one: First I made a magic ring by wrapping the yarn around my finger and using my hook to bring out a loop, then I continued by making six single crochet inside the magic ring.
Step two: I used my pin to place a mark on my first single crochet, so I won't forget where the next row starts. For the second row, I made two single crochet in each of the stitches, which amounted to eighteen single crochet.
Step three: For the third row, I made a single crochet into the first stitch, and two single crochet into the next, I repeated the same process till I was done with that row, and continued increasing every pattern till it got to the sixth row.
Step four: For the seventh row to the tenth I did, a single crochet in each of the stitches. Then it got to the point of changing the color, which I did with the same process of the single crochet.
Step five: for the eyes, I used a button and inserted it at the fourth row and I did the same for the second eyes of my bee. Then I inserted a piece of black yarn into my sewing needle and sewed it below the eyes of the bee, to get kind of a smiley lips.
After that, I continued repeating the single crochet pattern till it got to my desired size and I was done with it.
For the wings: I started by making a magic ring with my white yarn, for the first row, I made six single crochet and after that, I continued to make two single crochet in each of the stitches. For the third row, I made one double crochet and two double in each of the stitches till it got to the fourth row and I was done with the wings of my honey bee.
Final Step: I joined the wings to the body of my honey bee, and it came out looking like I expected it to.
