Let’s take a journey back to 1968. One of my favourite stamps is this 5 cent “Narwhal”. Such a cool looking stamp of this great creature. The male Narwhal has this long protruding tusk which makes it very unique amongst the whales. These guys can be found roaming in the arctic Canadian waters, as well as the Greenland and Russian waters. In the second photo we have a couple of “Gray Jays” perched on a branch. These birds love to hang out in the forested areas of Canada (and other countries too). The third stamp commemorates the 200 year anniversary of the first weather observation, dating back before Canada even became a nation (1867).
Now for the coin portion. Here is a 1976 Canadian half dollar, and get this, it doesn’t even have a trace of silver in it! Back in 1968, they decided to reduce and get rid of the silver content of coins, replacing the silver with nickel (I’m sure most of you know this already). So this coin is worth only a half dollar or 1.5 Hive.
