Fidelity Is At It Again

Fidelity the investment platform which many hold their 401ks with over 4.5 trillion in assets was one of the first platforms and CEOs to announce their wanting to include crypto for easier access to investors. They continue to pave that future and have once again hit another big mile stone.

Starting this week Fidelity is going to allow trading for Institutions for Ethereum. This move is expect to takes place on Friday October 28th. It makes you wonder with stock markets and the global economy being crushed could we start to see crypto becoming more of a safe haven and more people piling their assets into it? It's not far fetched.

This change will only be fore existing institutional customers who already trade in custody bitcoin which was rolled out in 2018. Yep, Fidelity was one of the first and continues to push.

The Ethereum Change

I personally think one of the most powerful things about the Ethereum change from proof of work to proof of stake is how it now generates revenue through holding of the tokens. I think this method clicks with a lot more people including investors.

Now instead of buying thousands in hardware, a huge monthly power bill and a hot AF room people can now simply buy Ethereum tokens and stake them. This gives them weight in the network and earns passive income in the form of more Ethereum.

This is exactly how savings and other investments work. You lend out your money or deposit money into a back and earn more money from that. Proof of stake feels like a natural progression of that over proof of work and I honestly think it's only a matter of time now before heavy investing comes to Ethereum.

What's Next

Fidelity continues to push the envelope when it comes to large investing and access to crypto. In fact they currently have two ETFs for metaverse and crypto payment companies as well as a spot ETF for bitcoin in Canada. However in the US the company continues to come under fire for regulations especially from Elizabeth Warren go figure.

With that said fidelity seems like one of the most promising places for crypto adoption and honestly I admire their continued push for doing so. Finding ways around crazy regulations of a few people scare of losing some of their power and instead offering up more opportunities to people.
