Don't get me wrong, I love writing. I absolutely do. But every time I write on HIVE there is always an ulterior motive in addition to the fact that I love to write. And that is to grow our account, both in terms of engaging with new people on the platform and growing the HP and HBD stores. Oh, and did I mention I love to write!
Jokes aside, I have been obsessed with power for quite some time. While HIVE Power is what I am most focused on, I haven't shied away from powering up LEO in large chunks too. Now I know LEO doesn't have that hype it had when its price peaked last year. But power is power and I am obsessed. There is sort of a wild satisfaction looking at your growing stake.
Although I haven't really done a lot of manual curating on LEO, and most of my curation on hive is automated, but upvoting comments has been oddly satisfying the last few days - specifically since the large-ish power up and adjusting some delegations. And I have actually seen increased meaningful engagement with completely new authors since then. Now I am not sure if the two are related, the sample size is yet too small, but one thing has changed for sure. I am going around upvoting comments much, much more now.
Growth on the chain is generally exponential. The more power you compound, the more you start getting noticed and that propels growth further. Add to that increased curation rewards, which in turn makes you wanna curate more - thus making efficient use of the voting power. Even up until a couple of weeks back I didn't care if my VP was at 80% or sitting idly at 100%. But since the power up and delegation adjustments, I start to itch it I see my VP anywhere near 90% and whenever that happens, I go out and start looking for good comments on others' posts and start reading, replying and upvoting.

My curation had been a straight line on average but I am expecting it to stabilize at over 3 HIVE per day. It will take a bit of time as adjusting delegations takes over 5 days to reflect on vote value, and another 7 days to reflect on curation.
Of course, consistency is key. But if we can maintain consistency as a constant in this equation, this theory applies to the tee. That is the foundation of a proof of stake platform. Get power, get noticed.
On that note, I will be taking my LEO power to over 4k soon - for whatever it's worth! Maybe someday I can start curating LEO too in a meaningful way.
