Akito Takagi realized that Moritaka Mashiro's uncle has died. It's a clever way, too. He lived in the neighborhood, so his parents knew when Nobuhiro Mashiro died, but they didn't know he was a mangaka. It made sense, he used a pen name.

Interestingly, Moritaka believes his uncle committed suicide. He was told his uncle died of overwork, but he couldn't believe so when his uncle didn't have a job for 7 years.
