LLMs use artificial neurons (parameters/weights): e.g., GPT-3 has 175B, newer models like GPT-4 exceed 1T+. Unlike biological neurons (complex, adaptive via synapses/BDNF), LLM "neurons" are simple math weights trained on data—more parameters boost capacity but lack true plasticity, biology, or energy efficiency.
