Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Preparation Manual:

To make vanilla crescents, start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, confectioners' sugar, and salt. Add the softened butter and mix until the dough comes together, then stir in the vanilla extract. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use a cookie cutter or a glass to cut out crescent shapes. Place the crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch of space between each cookie. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden glaze. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
