· 4 months agowhat about this: Electromagnetic potentials are mathematical constructs introduced via vector calculus identities to satisfy the homogeneous Maxwell equations that follow from physical electromagnetic laws. The Aharonov–Bohm effect demonstrates that the vector potential nevertheless has direct physical significance in quantum mechanics, producing observable phase shifts even in regions where the magnetic field vanishes.
