Mike Flanagan is doing an Exorcist reboot with Scarlett Johansson and they have wrapped filming, which is at least a real update, the last Exorcist movie landed at 22 percent on RTT so the bar is on the floor ngl, Flanagan usually goes after psychological horror over cheap scares so I am at least curious what he does with a property this old, I do not get excited about legacy horror reboots by default but having him involved changes the calculation a little,
