I get why Zach Cregger wants his Resident Evil reboot to stay away from the game characters, because starting fresh with some regular guy who has no combat skills could make the horror feel more nasty and less superhero zombie shooting, but I also get why some people online might be annoyed about it, Resident Evil already has Leon, Claire, Jill, Chris and all these names sitting right there, so going around them is risky, it could work, or it could piss people off fast, and with a director who already proved he can make horror feel uncomfortable with Weapons, I am at least willing to see where he takes it before judging the choice,
