She stabbed her newborn son to death, then sent a video of the horrific act to the man believed to be the child’s father. This is the accusation that led to the arrest of a 17-year-old girl in France, who is considered by investigators to be the main suspect in the murder that took place on February 23rd in an apartment in Tarare, eastern France, about 45 kilometers north of Lyon.
Shortly after the killing, the young woman allegedly sent the video of the violence to a man thought to be the father of the baby. It was this man who then called the police to report the murder.
The baby’s body was reportedly found under a bed, wrapped in a sheet. Investigators believe the infant may have been stabbed with a pair of scissors, and early medical examinations suggest the child was likely killed shortly after birth.
According to the French TV network BFM, four family members were in the house at the time of the murder, all of whom were taken to the hospital in a state of shock. The baby’s mother was taken to the maternity ward in Villefranche-sur-Saône, before being placed in police custody and later released for medical reasons.
