Mi familia y el café.png

To remember my childhood is to remember the smell of coffee every morning and also in the middle of the afternoon, it is to see my grandmother boil water, take her cloth strainer and prepare coffee with great pleasure and then watch her enjoy that first sip with a face of satisfaction which would be followed by some oral expression ratifying that the coffee had turned out just the way she liked it.

Now then, I do not remember if in my childhood I was encouraged to drink coffee, but I do remember how I already mentioned feeling at home the smell of it, so I have always related it with family, happiness and union.

On the other hand, I do not know or, better said, I do not remember at what age exactly my sister began to drink coffee, or if my grandmother had something to do with it, which is the most certain thing, and how that process went.

But as the years went by and I became an aunt first, I don't remember seeing my grandmother or mother giving coffee to my nephew, but when I became a mother, I did see my grandmother when my son was a little boy dip her little finger in the coffee and introduce it in Cristian's mouth and I am sure that when I realized this had already been happening for a while, because my son showed real satisfaction with the taste of coffee and asked for it when he smelled it.

When I saw my son and my grandmother like this I experienced several feelings, first amazement because it was something I did not expect, second a little anger because they had not asked me permission or authorization for it and third love, as both looked in complete complicity and shared a genuine love for coffee, I loved that, because I knew what coffee meant to my grandmother.

Now, if you ask me if I agree that children should be given coffee, no, I do not and the main reason is the caffeine present in our beloved drink, I consider that for children it is not at all prudent to drink coffee or any other beverage that has caffeine, such as soft drinks or instant teas, According to information, the recommended age for a child to start drinking coffee is 12 years old, but the ideal would be to ask the pediatrician and he/she will tell us what is best.

Finally, in my family coffee has always been something significant and even more so when my grandmother was alive, because it was her favorite drink. At home anything could be missing, but not coffee, so my participation in the STB # 76 concludes.
