Recent events have come to mind, which make me think seriously about how I should or must talk to my son to make him aware. The reason is that a little over eight days ago, he had another motorcycle accident. This is one of several, but this one was the most serious. The point is that for quite some time now, I have been talking to my son with the aim of making him understand that he cannot continue riding his motorcycle and that, while it is true that he uses it only to get to and from work, but that the motorcycle should not be his means of livelihood. I don't know what to think anymore. Is he very distracted? Does he not know how to drive well? Or should I also attribute part of the responsibility to the number of crazy drivers we have on the streets of Venezuela today?
Now, no matter how much I talk to Cristian and explain the dangers he is exposing himself to, and that fortunately, thank God, his life has not been compromised so far, although because of this last accident, it seems he will have to undergo surgery on his ankle because the blow he took affected his ankle and apparently also his fibula, and in the future it could be worse if there is another fall or a bad movement.
But even though he has had several accidents, my son is determined to continue riding his motorcycle, so if I had to be the bad guy, disguised or wearing a mask like the one in Mission Impossible, the goal would undoubtedly be for him not to know it was me. The purpose would be to scare him into becoming aware, so he would learn a lesson and live a better life, far from danger. because in my opinion, children often listen more to people on the street than to their parents, or react better to a real scare.
I imagine the scene like something out of a movie, perhaps something like a dream, but very real, something that makes him feel like he is awake and that in that dream he suffers an accident or a scare that brings him to the brink of death, and that because of this, death appears before him and tells him that he is about to take him away, something similar to the visit of the three spirits of Christmas to Ebenezer Scrooge.
An event that scares him and at the same time calls him to reflect on his actions, so that he understands that he must become aware and stop putting himself in danger, because his life depends on his prudence and good judgment.
