I have been thinking of this topic from the very first time I saw it. And all that I kept thinking about is how do I strike a balance between the two. Each of them is very important and needs to be looked into.

FIRST OF ALL
I love what I love doing. Because it gives me joy and fulfillment in life. Most people insist on doing what gives them joy and satisfaction in life. But for me I would rather think twice. There are needs to be attended too. There are people looking up to me for financial support and my immediate family is also there pleading that I should not forget them. The question is - can my passion put food on my table? Can it pay all the bills that I have? Can it continue to carry all the responsibilities as we keep progressing? All of these and more are the questions that I should ask myself. If I can be able to answer these questions properly without having my mind skipped along the way, then I am good to go.
Secondly, The financial security or stability. One will put this into consideration because if anyone is not financially stable then there will be a very big problem. And that means you will have to be depending on other people to feed and take care of you. People will soon get tired of you and will not want to help you. But when you are financially stable you don't need to look up to someone else to solve your problem, you will just do it by yourself.
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Presently I have a younger brother who have refused to do what is expected of him instead he is into one work that don't pay his bills. He always call me for everything he wants to do with money and it got to a time when I couldn't bear it anymore and then I stopped given him money. He is no longer happy with me as we talk because I have also refused to give him money. I believe that he is doing what gives him joy and that is his passion. Yet he doesn't have financial stability. Today he goes around calling people to help him when he can actually do something that he fetch him money.
For me I believe that if what I love doing can't settle my bills I will look for something else to do.
