Charity is said to be love and I believe it. Showing love most begin from my immediate environment.

Friends welcome back to this initiative by #hive reach-out community. This is a community that believes in providing help to the needy in the society and that is what I stand for. I love the work of charity. I have tried in my own little way to render help to some individuals, but it seems that two good heads are better than one. I have checked on what I have done in the past as regards to charity work and come to discover that I have not been able to achieve much because I was doing it alone. But now that I have this great community that has this burden to help the poor in the society I believe that we can achieve more together.

Charity begin at home means to do your good works from the people within. Some people are known for their good works only outside their families. If you ask any of his or her family members about such an individual all you will hear is that he is a very stingy person. You can touch his money. He will not help at home when The been be.

We need to look around us to see the people that need help, people that needs our support, people that are dying with no one to help them. They need people like us with such mind to help them. We don't just need to shine out light outside our environment. I believe that this is what this week's edition is all about.

Let me use my last get together for the widows to give a clear example of what I am trying to say. When I have already gathered what I want to share to the widows and have also figured out how many widows I need to call. I made up my mind that I was going to start with the widows I know from my environment so that they can also benefit from my charity work. There are so many of them that I don't know. I had to go through some people in our area to ask around and some names was given to me. I personally went to those widows in my street and call them for a meeting in my house. I never allowed them to know what the meeting is all about. Some honored my invitation and some did not come. After the whole meeting and I shared both food and clothes out to the widows that came, some of them begin to regret not coming to answer my invitation. That was the reason why I had more people the second time than the first because they already know what the meeting is all about. I made it possible for the people around me to benefit from what I planned for the widows. This is what charity begins at home means.

What about people who only help people outside and refuse to help their neighbors? People hardly come close to them at home. People always talk bad of them at home and the immediate environment. This should not be found among us. What we do outside to make people happy, should also be done at home.

This is my response to the week's edition of #hive reach-out that says- Charity begins at Home.

I invite @danrabs, @fasacity, @chidistickz to come quickly and join while there is still time.
