Schools are places to learn, socialize and prepare for a future ahead but these courses are defiled and altered whenever there is a point of distraction which is allowing the use of phone.
It is of a fact that mobile phones are no longer the way they used to be anymore as they now serve for more useful purposes for more, fast and swift learning in case of a deadlock while reading or solving anything related to academics. So many things we had to visit the library for in the past or spend days on assignments or group work of which are now easier to do for students of this age right from phones with little time but is it advisable to bring the comfort of phone usage to classrooms based on its usefulness?
Using phones at home or at our free time, we know that we are easily distracted if not determined because when we plan on using a few minutes, we end up using many hours if care is not taken. So allowing students or giving them an avenue to be tempted in classrooms won't be helpful in anyway. By the way, we might even be encouraging them against exercising their brain to work and learn properly.
I remember back then in secondary schools when phone usage was totally banned but still some students still sneak it in and at some point they get carried away while pressing till they get caught in the process and the phone.
That's how far phones can distract them in the process of learning and at the end of the day, their focus get shifted from their primary assignment in school gradually.
We might say it should be allowed for break time when they are free from having classes from their time table but we all know that humans will always abuse opportunities in going beyond the limits.
From my own perspective, phones should not be allowed in school for full concentration and effective learning of students. Phones can always be used when they get home or off days for school.
