Haru is fighting Garurumon, and when the professor shows up, Garurumon seems to know him from somewhere... Is the professor also a Haru?!
Digimon Survive is a Digimon Visual Novel with Turn-based strategy battles. The game follows a group of children who find themselves in another world, and their desperate attempts to find a way back home. The children find themselves involved with monsters, both as partners and enemies.
This is the darkest piece of Digimon media I ever consumed, and Cybersleuth had pretty dark stuff too. Digimon Survive fuses the concept of Digital Monsters with Japanese folklore. It's amazing how the idea of "child sacrifice" integrates seamlessly with Digimon lore. The specific Digimon they choose for this game enhance this theme.
Digimon Survive is the closest modern entry to the old school Digimon anime vibes. Though, more than the earlier Digimon anime series, the game reminds me more of Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor series. In that series too, characters may die depending on your actions.

35 - Haru vs Garurumon
The party reach the enemy base only to find Haru and Garurumon arguing... The conversation implies that Haru isn't a human but a Digimon in disguise, and I already have theories regarding who it'd be...
To make it even more obvious, the professor appears to be the Haru that was Garurumon's partner when he was a child. Garurumon says he hates him, but can't act on that hatred, some parts of him still believe in bonds...
So, we have an epic fight against Garurumon!
