Dino Crisis 2 is a survival shooter by Capcom. A failed experiment sends you across time to a jungle filled with Dinosaurs. This sequel is more action filled compared to the original Dino Crisis and features two protagonists, the new agent Dilan and the return of Regina!

Dino Crisis 2 first released on PS1 and while it shares characters with the first game, it's more heavy on action and mostly abandons the real-time 3D environments for pre-rendered backgrounds. The game's scope is much larger as it covers more than one facility and a whole city that was displaced in time! It's noticeably more high-paced compared to the first game!
This playthrough uses the Rex-HD Mod on top of the GoG version. The mod is currently incomplete so you'll notice inconsistent pre-rendered backgrounds quality in my playthrough.
I love the fact you play as two characters with different weapon types, strengths, and weaknesses! Regina is more agile while Dylan is power-focused. There are way more Dinosaur types to fight compared to the first game, and there's even an underwater level that feels nice to play!
I first played Dino Crisis 2 when I was a child. The T-Rex's roar was so realistic, I remember having nightmares because of it. I remember spending hours in the first few areas of the game, and since I didn't have a Memory Card as a child, I replayed them a lot. I remember some parts of the game were very challenging on PS1, so I chose Easy Mode this time, but as you'd see in the videos below, it might've been too easy. By the second act, I was more focused on getting better score than staying alive.
I definitely recommend this game even more so than the first entry! If not for the story then the gameplay! (The twists and ending can get very confusing, but they're cool!) Watch my playthrough below:
