During this Steam Next Fest, (June 2025,) I wishlisted many games I saw for the first time, and downloaded a bunch of Demos. One Demo I was excited for is the anime 3x3 fighting game Hunter X Hunter: Nen x Impact.
I'm not big into fighting games, but I have my share of casual Tekken playthroughs. I also loved Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series of arena fighters. The gameplay of Nen x Impact flows very well, and I love simple but very faitful-to-the-anime 3D models and animations for all Hunter x Hunter characters.
Hisoka is equally creepy in the game compared to the anime. Lol
With Nen x Impact we finally have a good Hunter X Hunter video game. I think the last video game for the series was Wonder Adventure for the PSP, though HxH characters appeared in many crossover games, and many, many more mobile games since...
I can't help but wish Nen x Impact released 5 years ago (or ideally, 10 years) when Hunter x Hunter had more hype.
The Demo only shows 6 characters, with 12 blank spaces for other characters. Even the opening doesn't showcase most of the cast of Hunter x Hunter. At least the four main characters, Hisoka, Chrollo, and Mereum, are there! What more do we want? Ging? Illumi? Alluka?! ...wait, I want those characters!!!!
The Demo doesn't have Online Play Mode either, but since the full game will have a decent Online presence, (I assume,) I hope they add more characters,.
