Valkyria Chronicles is a Turn-Based Strategy game set in a fantasy world based on World War II. The story follows Squad 7 of the Gallian Army, as they push back against the Empire threatening to invade their land. It's an anime-style war story, with a lot of heart!
I love this game's presentation so much. The storybook frame around every scene, the water-colors filter on top of 3D models. The way the story is told as if you're reading a History Book! I can't believe this is an originally a PS3 game! It has better animations compared to modern PS5 games, and I'm all happier for playing it!

In this sesseion we're introduced to the two main characters: Welkin Gunther, and Alicia Melchiott. Also, Welkin's adopted sister, Isara. This small skirmish marks Welkin's first battle, near his house.
I like the small (but serious) stakes of this battle, and it worked like a great tutorial!
