The weather these days are so unstable. On the morning, it's hot and then in the evening, it's freezing cold. Sometimes, in the mornings, even just walking outside makes me want to run back inside and hide in front of the fan. But even with the heat and cold, I feel a little cheerful because sometimes special days fall on ordinary weather and it makes them feel brighter. Maybe it’s the same with celebrations? We don’t need perfect conditions, we just need the right people and the right reasons to gather.

I missed doing these mini blogs and since I have time, I decided to join another Ladies of Hive contest for this week. They have three topics for this week in which I will try my best to answer.

If you could bring one special dish, drink, or treat to our anniversary table, what would it be and what story or memory makes it special to you?

The Mango Float

If I could bring something for the anniversary table, it would be a Mango Float or more known as Mango Graham Shake. It may not look like much compared to a full cake or a different dessert but it has the kind of flavor that reminds me of my childhood. Just thinking about it makes me remember hot afternoons when my grandparents make some and my cousins and I waited by the freezer for it to be ready. The cold sweetness always felt like the best reward for all the waiting.

During summer vacations, we would visit my grandma’s place and mango float was almost always part of it. My mom prepared it because mangoes were in season and were cheap and she knew how much we loved it. She even allowed us to join, layering graham crackers and pouring cream like we were real cooks. Of course, we ended up eating half of the mango slices before they reached the dish.

Why Mango Float is Special

The funny thing about mango float is that it taught us patience. Mom always said it had to stay in the freezer for hours but kids don’t understand hours very well. We opened the freezer again and again, just hoping it was ready. She got annoyed, but she also laughed when she caught us peeking inside.

Those small moments made the dessert more than just food. To me it became a symbol of summer and of being young and carefree. If I brought mango float to the Ladies of Hive anniversary table, I wouldn’t just be sharing dessert. I would be sharing a little slice of that childhood joy that I still carry with me.

What’s one wish or blessing you would give to the Ladies of Hive community as we celebrate this milestone?

A Wish for Ladies of Hive

If I could give one blessing to Ladies of Hive on this anniversary, I would wish for strength. Not just the kind that makes us survive but the softer strength that lets us keep moving forward with smiles. Life can be tiring and sometimes unfair. Communities like this one prove that we can hold each other up. That’s a rare thing to find online or even in real life.

Another blessing I want to give is creativity that never runs out. Every week there are different contests and every week women show up with stories, poems, art and blogs. That’s not easy but it shows how much passion lives here in Hive. My wish is that this spark doesn’t fade and that the community continues to be a safe home where everyone feels welcome to share. I wish that this platform and community lives for another 30 more years so when the time comes I had a kid and family, I can tell her how wonderful my online experience was and she could continue the stories and lessons I learned in here.

What This Community Means

For me, Ladies of Hive is not only a place to post but also a place where voices are heard. Sometimes you write something small and you think it’s not important but then someone comments and suddenly your story matters. That kind of kindness is something I want to see grow more. My blessing is for more connections like that, more women supporting women.

Even if we all come from different places and backgrounds, we meet here in one table. It feels like a digital version of a family gathering, where everyone has something to share. My wish is that as the years pass, the bond becomes stronger. That way, anniversaries like this one will feel even more meaningful.

What song or piece of music would you dedicate to the Ladies of Hive on our anniversary, and what makes it meaningful?

A Song for Ladies of Hive

If I could dedicate a song for the Ladies of Hive anniversary, I think it would be “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. It’s not a new song but it always makes me feel empowered when I listen to it. The lyrics are about finding your voice and standing tall even when you feel small. For me, that matches the spirit of this community.

Every time I see the posts here, I feel like they are tiny fight songs on their own. Women writing about struggles, victories, memories and dreams. All of those are voices that deserve to be heard. Sometimes you don’t need a loud voice to be strong, you just need a tiny one that will lift up everyone. That’s what this community has built and that’s why this song fits so well.

Why That Song Matters

I also chose it because it was one of the first songs I listened to during a hard time in my life. It reminded me that even when people don’t see your battles, you still have the right to fight for yourself. That feeling is something I also see in the stories shared here. Everyone has their own battles but sharing them gives others courage too.

So, if I play that song for Ladies of Hive, it’s not just music but also a reminder. It is a reminder that this community has been a safe place for strength, creativity and hope. It’s like a soundtrack for women lifting each other up. And I think anniversaries deserve songs that make us feel proud of how far we’ve come.
