We all know how the new year can be, promises of hope and change. It's always a time of joy and a time to write resolutions and goals. A lot of these resolutions don't get resolved, sometimes they do, but a majority don't. Today I decided to write two poems that talk about this. Read and enjoy
POEM 1
It is a new day, a new week, a new month and a new year
Happy New Year, Happy New Year, screams of jubilation and laughter fill the air.
The earth has gone around the sun once more, it is time to run wild and spread cheer.
The last year was filled with so much, but that is gone now, we are now in a new year.
It is time to look up all the things I said I'd achieve at the start of the year
I achieved this, I am joyous, I didn't achieve, we go again
Old things have passed away, I'm a new being.
Time to write down my New Year's resolutions
What have I not been doing?
Where do I need to change?
I'm for sure going to be better, something is brewing
Days go by and then weeks, I've been a better me, but I've been far from slick.
Maybe I need to relax a bit
Relax I do, and before I know it, the year is almost over. I quit!
How did It all go by so fast?
I look and realize I barely stuck with my resolutions. We go again next year.
A New year comes, the cycle continues
In the end, the new year is just another day, it's what we do with it that determines the change.
POEM 2
Happy New Year everyone, it's that time of the year again
Lots of joy lots of hope, and a new beginning we hope
Revolution complete, a new one begins, let's make this one extra special
Happy New Year everyone, it's time for all the bad New Year jokes to fly
Talmbout " I haven't eaten since last year"
Happy New Year everyone, let's call all our friends and greet them, jumping from one year to another is no mean feat.
Happy New Year everyone, why not throw out some fireworks while we're at it?
Happy New Year everyone, let's write down our resolutions, We'll for sure hit them this year
Happy new year everyone, it's time to work harder, new year new me. Let's get this.
Happy New Year everyone, maybe it's not as easy as it seems
Happy New Year everyone, ok it's not so easy, but I'll do it.
Happy New Year everyone, well that was hard. Middle of the year we've managed to crush it, now it's time to make new goals.
Happy new year everyone, or maybe not, I've done enough this year, next year I'll continue.
Happy New Year everyone, I should have continued then, when does the cycle end?
Happy New Year everyone, it doesn't.
