Looking back to more than 14 years with crypto, the industry has progressed in a notable pattern - one that could be seen as a form of isolation and a result of greed in a certain way.
For the most part, I would blame it on every crypto adopter out there as I believe we've all played a role that influenced what product and services have been built in the space over this period.
You see the problem that most humans have is taking accountability for what they cause, we many times, in our various fields struggle to acknowledge how we may have influenced the turnout of events around us.
The Money Grab Impression
In case anyone has missed out on this detail, business developers deliver on what is demanded not what is really useful.
The idea of building a business in the first place is to “give to the public - what the public wants” so as to profit as a business and so far - the public(crypto adopters) have wanted one thing - quick profits.
DeFi has been a money grab for the most part and shitcoins? Talk about Ponzi in crypto, are we ignorant of how semi-legal Ponzi schemes have become?
I've legit seen people promote Ponzi schemes while fully stating that it's a Ponzi and everyone still joins in because you know - early adopters can benefit from it.
Greed at what level? Imagine being a part of a criminal operation simply because you know you'd benefit from the money of people coming later and they will probably get rekt - are we that desperate for money?
DeFi will keep being a money grab and shitcoin Ponzi will keep being openly practiced if we continue selling this money grab impressions. Has anyone seen the recent news on Safemoon? Chances are they would have profited a lot more than they'd pay as fine.
If we look back on things we've talked about seriously in this space, many have been developed. We talked about crypto rewards on social networks - we got a ton of SocialFi apps. We needed so-called free money - we got airdrops and mining apps. We needed capitalism level profits - we got NFTs, shitcoins and the current favorite - Bitcoin Inscriptions.
We got exactly what we demanded.
Gaining real-world exposure is how we'd scale
The era of crypto being isolated from the real world is quickly coming to an end with tokenization of real world assets now being heavily discussed.
Notice that we had to discuss it too for numerous projects to start popping up? We got wines tokenized, traditional assets and funds tokenized, real estate investment? So many developments set out to build a bridge between crypto and the real world.
Point? For 14 years we've remained small because as early adopters, we wanted to remain small and milk the system from within.
Now, the sweetness of it is quickly fading so we're now ready to actually get busy with some real business.
Crypto is at a stage where it makes a mark in history, this circle of adoption is unlike any other we've ever seen.
The world of tokenized economies is about to become a default business environment.
To think it's all going to be borderless by design is insane.
