In this content I'm focusing on the challenges that healthcare system in Nigeria are facing and how AI and blockchain technology can help to improve the healthcare system of Nigeria and also improve the masses health.

CHALLENGES FACING NIGERIAN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
Poor documentation.
Poor documentation has been a very serious challenge facing Nigerian health system.
During my thoughts I remember the story of a man rushed to the hospital who was critically ill only for the nurses to open a room filled with thousands of health care cards and was searching for the man's medical record this took so many hours and before they were able to get it the man couldn't make it it was late, getting a patient medical history is what helps to manage the person's present situation but the manual way of storing patient record have made the difficult to save an emergency and sometimes they end of doing things the wrong way because they couldn't find the history of the patient.
Many people are unaware of their present health condition, some don't even care because they don't understand that it is their rights to know their health history, some have been wrongly diagnosed due to poor or lack of good medical equipment.
Poor healthcare facilities.
February 2020 my brother had a severe brain injury traffic accident and he needed to be on a ventilating machine we had to travel for 5 hours in an ambulance just to get a private hospital that has an ICU where there is a ventilating machine.
Lack of good infrastructure is a very big challenge facing Nigerian health sector and this have resulted to the death of thousands of people everyday because the private sectors that are equipped with lives supporting machines are very expensive and not all can afford it.
Lack of fund has been the major reason why there are few health facilities equipped especially in the rural area of Nigeria because the government that I expected to provide the needed fund are not really doing a good job on that.
There are so many other challenges facing Nigerian health system and artificial intelligence and blockchain technology can go a long way in transforming Nigerian health care sector.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY FOR NIGERIAN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.
AI has done great job in transforming the different sectors and it will also transform Nigerian health sector in combination with blockchain technology in various aspects.
Accurate diagnosis
Inaccurate diagnosis has been a challenge facing Nigerian health system but with artificial intelligence and blockchain disease can be easily detected for instance to diagnose some infection disease like typhoid fever to tuberculosis even malaria accurately in Nigeria they couple of days but with artificial intelligence diagnosis can take the place with in some seconds and with blockchain technology those diagnosis can be recorded and secured in a ledger to help treat an attend to the patient no matter how long it takes without waste of time.
Accurate billing record.
Most especially in the so-called government hospitals today it is very difficult to get accurate bills but with blockchain technology there will be no fraud or cheat because all treatments and its prices will be recorded in the blockchain and as everything is decentralized during this charge there will no additional bills or double bills for the patient this will Foster accountability as no record can be manipulated.
Also with smart contract there will be no billing error because bills will have an automatic process.
Most times bills are paid into individual account the private the society from getting a well equipped health facilities which the transparency in the blockchain technology this will reduce because there will be accuracy in financial data as each block in the blockchain contains timestamp that keeps the billing records in order.
Eliminate fake drugs.
Fake medications has been a very difficult challenge we face here in Nigeria most drugs are fake and instead of curing disease they are causing more problem to the human health system,
blockchain and AI can assist Nigerian system in detecting those fake drugs through pharmaceutical supply chain with the blockchain all drugs supply can be traced to its manufacturer and its content and also artificial intelligence can analyze drugs data set like the market trend the prices of the drugs and its ranges to have detect substandard drugs and fake drugs.
Summary.
Blockchain technology and artificial intelligence can really help Nigerian health system to improve and this will benefit the masses as we all will have a well equipped healthcare centers in rural and urban areas well equipped, also medical records will be intact, Billings will not be manipulated, and this will help to empower patients because they will have total control over their medical records and also increase security in the country, healthcare providers will also be happy.
Blockchain technology in Nigeria health care system can also enable patients who own digital wallets to pay their bills with cryptocurrency transaction which is more faster and less transactions fees and this will also enhance financial inclusion.
