If you ask me to choose my favorite mode of transport, I don't think I will choose road; I will choose air transport, and it is not because I have experienced it before, but because of how fast and convenient it is. Let us be honest, one of the most tiring things about traveling by road is the amount of time you spend sitting inside a bus.
I have never traveled by air before; I see it in movies and I have always admired airplanes since I was much younger. Each time I see an airplane flying high in the sky, I can't help but imagine what it would feel like to be inside it. I know I can never truly understand the feelings until I travel across countries in it.
There are some journeys that can take over fifteen hours, depending on where you are going to, and by the time you finally arrive, your whole body is already complaining; your back hurts, your legs feel stiff, and you are tired before you even begin whatever took you there.
I know some people love road trips with the windows down and music blasting, while others dream about train rides through scenic countryside, but me? Miss me with all that; just put me in an airplane, preferably on a flight that's at least ten hours long, and I'm happy. I know that most people complain when they see a double-digit flight time on their boarding pass. They start calculating how many movies they'll have to watch or how sore their backs will be by the time they land, but not me. I'm thinking this is perfect.
Flying, for me, makes the journey feel like part of the holiday rather than just a way of getting there. The moment I get to the airport, of course, I don't like the hassle of the airport; it's too crowded and there's a chance of missing the flight. But on the other side, you can just wander around the terminal, grab a snack, and watch planes taxi by, and before you know it, you're settling into your seat with nowhere else to be. I hope I get to fly someday.
