Splinterlands has just release the prelaunch of their year long pack sale which is name Rebellion.

Rebellion has a number of cool features to the entire system of which I'm sure I won't cover all of them here. While I will cover a number of those features I want to first dive into what Splinterlands is showing us.

Major Refocus

Splinterlands has had a rough year if not two years. The bull market seemed to get them in trouble as what normally happens with HUGE scaling and then when the bear kicks in a hard time trying to retract back. Trust me I get it, I've been there we most likely all have been there.

As much as people want to say price, token price etc don't matter let me point out the most popular games outside of the NFT world. Pokemon, baseball cards and other collector cards. A VAST majority of people buy these things as investments and not so much to play the game. They enjoy the rare cards and often times they are sold. Your NFT market place is the same as Pokémon conventions and ebay in which people are actively trading, buying and selling cards. So to say price doesn't matter I personally think is down right crazy and it does matter.

One of the biggest changes to Splinterlands that has only just started to begun is to start returning value into cards and other assets into the game. There was a time when you could buy packs and sit on them selling them for 2x or even 5x+ a year or two later.

Chaos however was and has been another story. The vast amount of over printing of not just card assets but also DEC was and has been staggering. However we are finally starting to recover and burn through that. Still still room to go for sure but with the recent launch of Rebellion and soon Land demand is going to start catching up with supply much more quickly.

In fact I only had enough DEC myself to pick up 105 presell packs of Rebellion.

This will land me at least one of of each of the promo cards. At the time of writing this a little over 1 hour and 30 minutes into the 500,000 pack presell we are almost half way sold out.

This presale will last a month I believe and then general sale will happen Dec1st. 2024.

The real launch will still have millions of packs however a burn mechanic is in place which will burn packs each day. This feature seems to have gone well in the past. It keeps things fluid and moving, airdrops happening for new cards at a good rate and does a pretty good job of catering to the supply and demand aspect of it all.

Now the reason I only picked up 105 packs is I have to also be smart with my limited liquid funds at the moment. DEC is going to be in super high demand and when Land 1.5 is released I have 142 plots of land I need to try to tend to. Not only that but I also want to stack some of the liquidity pools to earn some passive income on that and on top of that I really still want to get to my 1 million SPS goal which is a huge task.

What This Shows Us

The way this presale is going so far while yes slowing than other sold out presales it's still on track for being sold out and most likely sold out way ahead of time. At this rate I would say 2-3 weeks for sell out if not sooner we are only a little into it so far and what it's showing us is there is still plenty of demand and trust in Splinterlands and the team.

Some Cool New Features

Now of course some of this is subject to change so take that in mind as you read below.

Vouchers - Vouchers are finally playing a bit into the game. Not only are they currently offering a discount to rebellion card packs at 5 vouchers for $1 or 1,000 DEC off of each packs price but it also is used to land you bonus packs.

There's also talks about implement them into the air drop system which also houses some rather cool new updates!

Airdrop aka Conflicts - Before you could simply buy up a bunch of packs and then resell them on the market. This was one of the biggest flaws of Chaos IMO in were you simply just had to buy the packs and it didn't matter if you held on top them. Rebellion opens up a new mini game for the air drops

This new airdrop systems requires the player to "stake" rebellion cards or packs in order to get in on it. Each "conflict" is set to run for one month with a total of 9 airdrop cards so about 9 -10 months of rebellion airdrop cards are up for grabs.

To take part in it you'll need to buy "battle wagons" which will cost a small amount of vouchers in which then you will be staking packs or cards to it. 5 cards or 100 packs staked in each battle wagon. Each day a set amount collection power will be collected by the player. A single pack will count as 150 collection power. It's also setup to encourage combining cards to level them up as a higher level card will have a higher collection power this really helps to discourage waiting or holding on to cards.

Overall these changes seem very positive and new. They seem well planned out and so far I personally believe the sale is going well. What are you thoughts on Rebellion and Splinterlands do you see us having brighter days ahead?
