Hive has been a wild ride this week. It feels like some weeks are dead and then others spark all new drama or all new releases. Let's take a dive into what's new on the hive blockchain this week and I'll most likely jump into a few of my own goals as well as they are starting to drastically change.

Monthly Town Hall

The monthly town hall was something alright... Kind of a very weird topic and town hall if you ask me which I wasn't a fan of one bit. I wrote in detail my thoughts on that topic here Why I Feel Some Are Focused On The Wrong Things At Hive

In short it pretty much goes over my own thoughts on why I feel the price of hive isn't moving and general wasted money is happening on a consistent basis of which should be corrected from the community and that instead a much strong focus should be put into the core blockchain to bring in Smart contracts and then run hackathons or support other applications that are being built on to the hive blockchain such as a "incubator" program.

New Game

This one came out of left field for me but it seems like a new game is about to be released on the hive blockchain. The game is called Rise Of The Pixels I don't know to much about the game yet but it seems like it's expected to release with early access packs within the next few days and the beta phase shortly after. You can read the official announcement with these details here RiseOfThePixels Game Relase notes

App Updates

Apps have been rather slow. For myself the biggest thing I've been waiting for is LEOAds and the buyback and distribution. So far it seems like we got MAYBE two weeks of buybacks which quickly boosted the price of LEO and then it got shut off with no more buy backs. It's also not showing ads anymore as part of a so called ad review process from adsense at the moment and I haven't seen any type of APY on the wallet or payout to those staking LEO. So it really seems like there's little to no progress on this front once again it's just more delays something personally I've grown very tired of around here. Let's hope 2024 starts to bring in some fresh updates on this front.

Holozing Seems to be doing well. Still stacking ZING tokens like crazy in preparation of the game release some time in 2024. Token price has fallen but that's honestly to be expected as more becomes liquid now and there's currently really nothing you can do with it. It's pure speculation and hope at the moment which isn't much to go off of. That's not a bad thing it's just what it is at the moment.

Splinterlands land release so far at least to me has been a rather big success. With the release of land we started to see not only the burning of the massive inflation of cards which was a big help but also now the burning of some SPS governance tokens. This all has caused the peg of DEC to be restored to $0.001 per DEC (with minor up and down movements) and for SPS to start regaining some values. From $0.014 to now $0.026 nearly a 100% gain since land was released last week.

Goals

I'm no longer going to do a break down of what I have and what goals I have instead it will be more of a general direction or moves I'll be making.

At the moment my core focus is to bring all of my 142 plots of land online. It's no small cost coming in at a little over $4,000+ worth of just DEC and I'm unsure now if I even have enough cards. I did stack a lot of beta cards and also reward cards over the last few months to prep for this. At 100 plots which are the first I want to get fully running we are talking about 5x100 plots or a total of 500 NFTs that need to be staked on to land. The lowest cost max card at the moment is $5 which isn't all that bad. It's the Venari Heatsmith. So putting 5x on a plot would run you another $25 to run your lands. But there's far better options with other cards that come with bonuses etc. that will factor into all of this. You're most likely looking at about $50-$100 worth of cards at least to really get some decent production going out of your lands. When you add up everything
A common plot $30+
DEC Max $55
Cards $50+
you're looking at a good $135 invest per plot of land to run a decent operation.

That being said my goal is also still to reach 1 million SPS before I even consider to start selling any off. We aren't even half way there lol but we are close!

Overall though I can see my Splinterlands assets in the next bull run very well being worth close to a million dollars in value. (Last bull run we pushed $400,000) But with more of everything there's really no reason why that asset value shouldn't have grown including the recent changes that have been happening in game to start restoring value and demand for everything.

Outside of that my primary goal was to continue to stack Hive but with all the crazy going on lately I've honestly started to lose a little faith in hive and I feel like some others may have as well. I don't want to but with all the issues and talks about dumb things instead of growing it's been rubbing me the wrong way big time as an investor. So let's hope 2024 turns a page on that as well quickly!

Also yes, I am not going to sugar coat anything. I call it like it is, have strong opinions and views on things but that doesn't mean I'm close minded at all. It feels like many are afraid to speak out when things are looking rough and to start turning the ship into the right direction. My hopes are we can see more and more of this constructive feedback rolling forward but also for those to offer up solutions and still help hive and applications over all. It's one thing to sit back and complain about everything but it's another to offer up constructive feedback, still invest and do your part to help the overall ecosystem with the talents you have.
