If you been following the blog you know I recently got into resin printing I been in the print game for over a decade now however resin is a whole different ball game.
I still have lots to learn and lots of experimentation but I am ready to contribute to the community
I present to you all my vat storage system.
So with resin printing it is a lot more work to change materials due to the liquid nature of the resin so one must empty out and clean the vat before new resin can be poured in.
So I wanted to see if I can instead have a few vats that I can use to quickly swap out resins.
The issue is that the resin is sensitive to light as that is what is used to cure it and so I found a cover someone made however there is no way to hold this cover down and also the bottom of the vat has a film that can get damaged so I designed a bottom.
The parts are pretty big so I printed them on my regular filament printers and then added some heat set screws so that the screws that come with the vats can be used to hold the top part down
Right above is one of my vats with some clear abs like resin about to be stored in my system.
And here it is with a filament storage bag, they are special bags that you can vacuum out the air with a little pump to keep things fresh.
I am also going to share this in a facebook group for this 3d printer I designed this system for and I hope I will be able to get some folks to join just here on hive.
