Hello Splinter nerds

This week's Splinterlands battle mage secrets is Maneuvers

It is a battle rule set in which all melee monsters gain the reach ability, which means they can attack in the front position.

The opponent was a deep thinker and he came up with a very bad trap for me which I could have fallen into if I used melee attackers but gladly I decided not to follow the rule set and use something he would not have expected, making me win the battle.

It was a 3 ruleset combo and the other 2 rules were:

  • Fire & Regret: This rule is against range monsters because they suffer damages too whenever they attack so the opponent would not expect me to use range monsters but I used two!

  • Weak Magic: All magic monsters hit the armor before penetrating the health, this rule gives monsters with armor an advantage while magic is weakened because they can no longer penetrate armor as they normally do.

Like I said the opponent came with a deadly formation and it would have been a loss if I used sneaky monsters or more melee attackers If you check his setup below, you will see he placed a monster with thorn ability at the second to the last position and Venator Kinjo with Camouflage and amplify abilities as his last monster and that venator is untouchable because of the camouflage so all my sneaky monster would have attack Cursed Windeku with the thorn ability and die an untimely death cos of the amplify ability possessed by venator.

His front position smells death too, He placed a monster with a thorn at the front position which would be resurrected by his summoner incase it died first, and then it would take me another effort to take it down again with melee monsters because of the armor and thorn.

Here comes the twist in the game, my setup was totally different from what he expected!

My Formation

Diemonshark was my tank, it is a melee monster with a rage, trample, and retaliate ability so I believed in it to do some great damage before it would be eliminated in battle and it didn't disappoint even though it was after the death of the opponent's Ever hungry skull that it started to shine with his retaliate and trample ability.

Daigendark Surveyor is the best monster in this battle because without it, winning would have been more difficult, her stun ability helped to slow down the opponent and stop them from attacking me and it also slowed them down with her slow ability giving me the chance to attack first.

Daarg Deadblast was the weapon training monster that I used, it gives Daigendark and Meerdaali guardian 3 magic power which they utilize well, it also has a swift ability that gives the team more speed.

Meerdali Guardian was my tank heal, the team is not complete without her and it did well to give Diemonshark more health and armor.

The rule was against range monsters but I still use range and particularly Angelic Mandarin because of its Triage and Silence ability as I thought the opponent might be planning to rebel with magic monsters the same way I did but he didn't use any but still the triage ability was useful as it delayed his sneak attacks on me

Igor Darkspear was my last monster but it did not last one round when the opponent sneaky monsters descended on him.
