Saludos amigos de Hive y de @geekzone, hoy voy a compartir con ustedes mi experiencia en la recuperación de equipos de computación del Centro Bolivariano CBIT Ezequiel Zamora, de una institución educativa del municipio Zamora, estado Aragua.
Greetings to everyone at Hive and @geekzone. Today I’m going to share with you my experience in refurbishing computer equipment at the CBIT Ezequiel Zamora Bolivarian Centre, an educational institution in the municipality of Zamora, Aragua state.
Cabe destacar que este CBIT, es uno de los centros que no estaba operativo y que planificamos para una revisión de cada equipo que presentaron fallas. Por eso todo el equipo de tutores nos trasladamos a otra parroquia para realizar este trabajo técnico, el cual tiene más de quince años en funcionamiento y hace unos meses venía presentando problemas de encendido de varios equipos y problemas en los monitores pantalla plana.
It is worth noting that this CBIT is one of the centres that was not operational, and we had planned to carry out a check on all the equipment that had malfunctioned. For this reason, the entire team of tutors travelled to another parish to carry out this technical work. The centre has been in operation for over fifteen years, but in recent months it had been experiencing problems with several pieces of equipment failing to power up, as well as issues with the flat-screen monitors.
Asimismo, iniciamos la revisión de cada computadora, la cual requiere de un mantenimiento preventivo y correctivo, ya que presentan mucho polvo en la parte interna de la tarjeta madre y sus componentes, se sacaron las memorias y luego de fueron limpiando los contactos con un borrador. Después de éstos la gran mayoría encendieron. Pero como son 21 equipos cada una con 512mb, se activaron once, y se le agregaron 512mb, para completar 1gb de ram y optimizar su funcionamiento.
We also began inspecting each computer, which required preventive and corrective maintenance, as there was a significant amount of dust on the inside of the motherboard and its components. The memory modules were removed and their contacts were cleaned with an eraser. After this, the vast majority powered up. However, as there are 21 computers, each with 512MB, eleven were upgraded with an additional 512MB to bring the total RAM to 1GB and optimise their performance.
En cuanto a la revisión de los monitores pantalla plana, todos presentan manchas que dificulta la visualización, se seleccionaron los que estaban mejores para ponerlos a funcionar, pero ya estos cumplieron su vida útil y requieren de reemplazarlo por unos más nuevos. Por otro lado se intentó instalar otro sistema en el servidor pero.no se pudo debido a problemas con la instalación, se recomienda instalar a través de un pendrive con el sistema operativo.
As for the flat-screen monitors, they all have spots that make viewing difficult. We selected the ones in the best condition to put into use, but these have now reached the end of their useful life and need to be replaced with newer ones. Meanwhile, we attempted to install another operating system on the server but were unable to do so due to installation issues; it is recommended that the operating system be installed via a USB stick.
Esta fue una experiencia donde el trabajo en equipo es importante para poder rescatar algunos espacios y también informar a los organismos educativos que se requiere una redotacion de nuevos equipos que ya cumplieron su funcionamiento con más de quince años, ya que están obsoletos con las nuevas tecnologías.
This was an experience in which teamwork was essential to reclaiming certain spaces and also to inform educational bodies that new equipment is required to replace the existing gear, which has been in use for over fifteen years and is now obsolete in the face of new technologies.
