Greetings to all my friends! Especially to the wonderful @ladiesofhive community—this time around, I’d love to join this Week #309 , where I’ll answer the question that caught my attention the most with a very personal story: a time when someone made a wrong assumption about you without knowing the facts. How did you handle it? How did it make you feel?

Six years ago, when my little daughter was born, I loved spending the afternoon looking at her little face and hands, playing with her, and feeding her. I’ve said many times that I live for my children, so I enjoy every minute with them to the fullest.
Someone I care about very much invited me to her house for lunch. To be honest, I didn’t want to go because that meant leaving the comfort of my bed and possibly missing out on time with my baby. In the end, my husband and I decided to accept the invitation.
When we arrived—my baby was about four months old at the time—they offered to take her to the master bedroom so she could be settled comfortably in the bed, and I could go rest as well.
Hours passed, and after lunch, we returned home. To be honest, I spent more time in that room with the baby than in the living room talking with the adults.
When I got home, I received a text message from our host. In her message, she asked me if, by any chance, I had taken the money that had been on the TV stand.
I closed my eyes, and my hands trembled with the outrage that washed over me as I read those words. I had never been unjustly accused of something so serious. I felt awful. It was an insult to me, to my husband, and to the good upbringing I received from my parents.
I had to make a superhuman effort to control myself. I showed my husband the message; he had to read it several times because he couldn’t believe the accusations being made against me.
He picked up his phone and called this person to defend me. I went to my room and cried when I heard my husband say, “I’d put my hand in the fire for my wife—she would never steal anything.”
My husband sat down across from me, so ashamed that this had happened. For a while, neither of us said anything, but when we started talking, we had many unanswered questions: What was the purpose of this accusation? Did this person want to create a confrontation between us? Why hurt me that way?
Less than two hours had passed when I received another message from that malicious person saying, “I have such a bad and tired memory!” “I didn’t remember that I’d moved half the money to a different place this morning. I beg your forgiveness for the inconvenience caused.”
Even now, six years after that accusation, it still hurts, and I’ve learned that people like that shouldn’t be in your inner circle—even if they’re blood relatives. It hurts because I know I’d never do something like that; I like to share what I have, not take things that belong to others.
That day, I promised myself I wouldn’t let other people’s hurtful comments, accusations, or behavior affect who I am or how I think.
I hope I never have to go through something like that again. Thanks for stopping by and supporting my post. See you next time. Bye!

Me sentí horrible.
Chao!
