The year 2024 is a year I will never forget. It comes with many ups and downs. I must say it taught me a lot of lessons. Those lessons really help to build me to the woman I am. Seeing this topic, I have to sit down for some seconds just to reflect on how the year 2024 has been. I must say I am grateful that I won the battles of the year.
I am so thankful that none of my family members visited the hospital, and there was no loss of life in my family. I am so thankful that I and my family celebrate the year in good health and peace of mind.
There were challenges and circumstances that were part of the 2024 journey I face. I know that the majority of us face such challenges, especially my friends from Nigeria. I never knew that I was a strong woman. I never knew I could multitask. The present inflation in my country made me realise how strong I am. I am so thankful to you because it made me realise that I have been hiding my strength. There were a lot of economic challenges in my family. These challenges made us believe in each other because everyone was busy looking for a means to survive.
This year I have learnt not to worry myself over the things of the world. This year made me realise the importance of appreciating the people around me and also appreciating my little effort.
I am thankful for the wonderful friend this year brought to me, a friend that turned sister. She is always there for me. I am so thankful that the year connected me to such an amazing friend.
My elder brother got married this year. My mom was so happy. See, next year Mom will be putting words in a blanket for me to go and get married. I am so happy for my brother that he has found someone that completes him.
Dear 2024, thank you for making me understand how important it is for me to take care of myself. This year made me realise that everything should not be work work; something I should take my time to cool off.
Thank you, 2024, for opening a wonderful opportunity for me. I was able to achieve many milestones in my life. I am grateful that I was able to achieve most of my dreams.
Thank you, 2024, for the family bond my family shares this year. This year, unite my family together; this brother of mine that I have not seen for over eight years now has come back to unite with us. We create a family group chat that unites us even more. Every week we do a video call to know how everyone is doing. Thank you, 2024, for uniting my family together. The bond is too strong that nobody can break it.
I am so grateful to you, 2024, for the experience, lessons, and all the opportunities you offer me.
The year will end in a few weeks. Now I am looking forward to the good tidings the year 2025 will bring.
