Technology has become part of our lives, and it makes life so easy for humans. There are people like me whose first thing they will reach out to the moment they wake up from sleep is their mobile phone, and that will also be the last thing they will do before going to sleep. To be honest, our phones have really been useful because we communicate and connect with people, work and study, shop, and take pictures. The truth is, technology has made all aspects of life so easy. Inasmuch as our dependence on these devices continues to grow, there is a need to ask this question: are those devices really helping us?

My devices have really been of help to me. With my smartphone, I am able to organize my schedules, set reminders, learn online, and acquire more skills. Since the existence of technology, information has been made more accessible than in the time of old; within a second you will have access to every piece of information with a few taps, and records we can comfortably learn from in the comfort of our homes. Our devices have helped to support us with a more intentional life; we stay connected with family and friends.
I understand that whatever has advantages also has disadvantages. Our devices sometimes can be a distraction to us, but we will not notice it because we are more concerned with the advantages.
Someone like me, the moment I pick up my phone to check one message before I know what is happening, has spent more than two hours scrolling through my phone. When I pick up my phone, I have a clear purpose, but with notifications and videos online, my attention is slowly pushed. We fail to understand that we have spent more time scrolling through our phones.
Technology is not an enemy to humans; these devices are not good or bad. The important thing is the relationship we build with these devices. For instance, the same phone that distracts us for hours can also help us to connect, learn, and work.

Devices such as laptops, televisions, smartphones, and tablets have really become part of modern life. It is very important that we use these devices wisely; with them, our daily activities are made easier, faster, and more convenient for us. Without my device the world will be so boring for me.
With my devices, I connect with people who are both close and far from me. We should have this in mind: our devices are here to help us and not to control our lives.
