Birthdays are a special day in our lives, and they also mean different things for different people. I am among the people whose birthday means a lot. My birthday is the most exciting day of the year; it is a time to celebrate, spend time with family and loved ones, create unforgettable memories, and receive gifts. There are some whose belief is against them celebrating birthdays; there are people that enjoy celebrating their birthday on a low key. Seeing this prompt, I come up with a question: Do you enjoy celebrating your own birthday, or are you a celebrator of other people’s birthdays?
There is this inner joy that comes with celebrating your birthday; for me, it is a period I reflect on my journey, things I was able to achieve, and how I am going to pursue my future. A birthday celebration is the most enjoyable celebration ever because it brings families and friends together. The calls, messages, and wishes from friends make us realize how important we are to people around us.

Not everyone enjoys large birthday celebrations; some prefer celebrating their birthday in a low-key way. They don’t throw parties; they may choose to hang out with a few friends or have a quiet dinner with family, or they may gift themselves. I always tell people it is not about an overwhelming birthday party; it is all about creating a moment you will live and cherish.
There are also people who derive joy in celebrating other people's birthdays other than their own birthday. I love putting a smile on people's faces and organizing surprise birthday celebrations. This set of individuals is few because they enjoy giving more than receiving. They see birthdays as an opportunity to appreciate special people in their lives.
When it comes to birthdays, everyone has a different idea of what a perfect celebration should look like. Some want a large birthday party full of people with music and drinks; they love seeing people around. Some prefer going for adventure or exploring places for their birthday. I am this kind of person who loves exploring new things on my birthday because it makes my day memorable.

For me, when it comes to birthdays, it is not about extravagance; it is about spending time with my family and friends and creating a memory with them that I will forever cherish. Gathering with people that matter will be more meaningful than spending my extravagance.
Another birthday tradition I enjoy is giving back to the community. Some set of people prefer celebrating their birthday by donating to charity, helping those in need. This kind of celebration makes a positive impact on the lives of other people. The greatest birthday of all is knowing that your birthday put a smile on people's faces.
My birthday will be coming up in a few months; it will be more about reflection, gratitude, and celebration. I would like to spend two more hours with my family and friends, enjoy good conversations, and create unforgettable moments.
There is no right or wrong way of celebrating a birthday. Whether you prefer grand parties or donating to charity, a birthday is not about celebrating how old you are; it is about celebrating life, creating moments, and looking forward to opportunities that are ahead. How will you choose to celebrate your birthday? Will you donate to charity, or will you be the star of the celebration?
