Learning has always been an interesting thing for me. One thing about life is we keep learning every day, and people are different when it comes to learning. Some people understand immediately, while for some it takes weeks, days, or even months. I have been fortunate to experience both sides of reality. There are things I have learned so easily, and there are things I find difficult to learn, but that moment really tested my patience. At one point I questioned myself. Flashback: Both experiences taught me an important lesson about how I learn and who I am.

One thing that I find so easy to learn is communication. If there is anything I love, it is expressing myself, listening to people, and talking with people. I always try my best to find the right word to explain what I mean; communication always felt natural for me.

To be honest, at the early stage I was not perfect; I had to learn how to organize my thoughts, understand what good communication is, and speak with confidence. Communication is not just about talking; it is also about listening to people. If I should compare it with things I have learned, communication is the easiest; it comes more naturally for me. I get to understand that when you have passion for something, learning becomes easy.

There is one thing I really struggle with to learn: learning how to be patient when doing difficult tasks, more especially when I don't do the task or assignment immediately; there are periods when I need quick results. And if I try the task repeatedly and still can't get it right, I'll be so frustrated, and I may feel like giving up.

I get to learn that being talented and intelligent in one area does not make someone good at everything. Most times I compare myself to people who seem to understand some certain things faster than me. Most times I ask myself why it is that some things that seem so easy for someone else seem very challenging for me.

I get to understand that struggling doesn’t mean failing; most times it is part of learning. Things I find made me realize my natural strengths. I get to understand where my strength falls and where I am comfortable. I get to understand that we all have that one we learn without stress and the one that struggles to learn, teaching a lesson in persistence and patience.

We don’t need to be good at something immediately; progress comes slowly, and that's normal. Most times we make mistakes when learning. Both experiences made me understand myself better; the easy things show me what I enjoy and where my ability lies. And the difficult moments challenge me to go out of my comfort zone. Both the easy lessons and the difficult ones have shaped me.

This is my entry on the weekly prompt #hivelearners #hl-w232e3 topic, a learning curve.
