It is okay not to have all of it figured out.

When it comes to maturity, it comes with a lot of pressure, the mindset that before a certain age you should be able to figure out your life.

We often ask ourselves some questions, like "What career will I do?" What will I study? At what age should I be able to live a comfortable life? Where do I see myself in the next two to five years? Of a truth, there is nothing wrong with those questions. At a point you can feel overwhelmed while trying to understand who you are.

There will come a time it will look like a race. Entering secondary school, you are expected to know what course to study. You enter university, and everyone is expecting you to have a nice career path. After your graduation all eyes are on you, and you are expected to have a job, the kind of life you want to live, and the kind of future you want to work towards.

The honest truth is, not everyone has their life figured out and is normal because all figures are not equal.

It is so unfair that life keeps pressuring us; the world leaves us with so much responsibility. How do you expect someone who is still discovering themselves to already know what the rest of their life will be? Change is one thing that is constant. Individual change, interest changes, and dreams change as well. The way I am in 2023 is not the same as 2026. I have discovered a lot of purposes that I didn't discover in 2023.

Life is not a bed of roses; it has its ups and downs. Most times we may choose a particular path and will realize that it is not for us. The majority of us studied something unique, and we ended up doing something different. What we saw back then as our dream turns out to be something we don’t want again. That doesn’t mean that we are not doing well; it only means that it shows that we are growing.

I understand that we are living in a world that is full of pressure; everyone is struggling to figure out their life. Since the existence of social media, things have really been going south and north. Many times when we open our social handles and see people doing well and we are not, it may look as if everyone is living a comfortable life except us.

We keep forgetting that everyone is different; we all have our different timelines. There are people that discover their talent on time, while for some it is later. I keep telling people that there is no competition in life and there is no deadline for figuring out who you are.

Life is not about figuring out everything so quickly. What matters the most is giving yourself encouragement. The honest truth is having your life figured out is not a journey that will suddenly happen. The more you live, the more you will keep figuring life out.

This is my entry on the weekly prompt #hivelearners #hl-w233e1 topic having it figured out.
