Discuss the tasks I can perform independently at home; there are certain responsibilities I can manage on my own without incurring any costs. Although some of these tasks can be handled by professionals, I enjoy doing these tasks myself because I save money by doing them myself, and it helps me take better care of my home.
One of the things I do by myself is clean my home. I enjoy cleaning my home, mopping, and arranging it. I know that there are professional cleaners who can do this job better than me, but I don't see any reason for hiring one when I can clean my house myself. I feel more satisfied when I do the cleaning and arranging myself.
Another thing I enjoy doing is washing my clothes by myself. I can’t even remember the last time I went to the laundry to wash my clothes. Every Saturday I do my laundry myself; I choose how to wash my different fabrics. I handle my clothes carefully and save the money I am supposed to spend on laundry services. Washing clothes is one of the activities I take pleasure in, as I began doing so at a young age, but I feel a sense of fulfillment when I wash them myself. I don’t even like people washing my clothes for me.
I do not believe I could ever hire someone to prepare my meals for me; I take great pleasure in preparing my own meals. I am this kind of person that cares so much about the things I consume. I strongly believe that what we eat can either keep us or kill us. That's why I prefer cooking my meals rather than ordering food or paying someone to cook for me. I love being in charge of how I prepare the meal and the ingredients I use. I love cooking so much; I try different recipes whenever I am cooking, although cooking takes time, but I enjoy every bit of it.
I enjoy doing all these things because there is this satisfaction I get from doing them myself. It gives me a sense of belonging and responsibility. There is this satisfaction I always feel when I clean my house, knowing full well the effort and energy I put in to make sure my home is clean and well arranged. One thing it teaches is patience, time management, and so on.
To be honest, it is not all the time that I will know what to do. The task must be timed so I can come back very well. I stress out most times I am so busy during this period. I understand why people have to pay for their task to be done. I didn't say that there is anything wrong with paying people to help with chores if you can afford it; probably you need extra time to focus on more important things.
As for me, I will keep doing these things myself. I save money by doing it myself and also maintain my independence. That doesn’t stop me from getting professional help if my work becomes more demanding or when a particular task requires expertise.
The goal is never to prove that I can do everything all to myself, just that being able to take care of my home is a valuable life skill I appreciate.
