It’s really amazing how fast time flies. It feels like just yesterday we celebrated the beginning of the year, wrote down our goals, made New Year's resolutions, and promised ourselves a lot of things we would like to achieve, reassuring ourselves that this year will be better than the previous years because it is a year to go get your goals. We were so excited and full of motivation; our hopes are so high.
Now we’re in the half-quarter of the year; it has a lot of mixed emotions. For some people it is a period of reflection; for some it’s a period of pride because they’ve stayed consistent, reached some milestones, and achieved almost all the goals they set for the year. Some are feeling bad and disappointed because they were unable to achieve their goals; life didn’t unfold the way they planned it. Life became tough, and those plans to change motivation faded.

One thing we should always have in mind is that reaching the middle of the year is not a do-or-die affair; rather, it’s a checkpoint. For me this is a period I pause and ask myself a few questions. What goals did I set at the beginning of the year? Have you been able to achieve the goals? Are the goals still important, or do you need to review the goals? I have come to find out that we hold on to goals that do not reflect who we are. Simply because we feel that we should finish what we started. In life we shouldn’t learn how to adjust our plans and fit in to the current reality.
I will not say that I have been able to achieve all my goals, but I have been able to achieve some of the goals, and I am so grateful for every milestone I was able to achieve. I made this decision: every little win I made deserves recognition. There are some goals that I have not achieved. I told myself I don't need to be hard on myself; life happens. As long as I am alive, surely I will achieve every goal. There is nothing bad in falling; what matters is picking up and taking a different path.
The good news still remains that the year is not over yet; there are still months ahead, and a lot can happen within this remaining month. The table can change; there is still hope life can transform anytime. Instead of focusing on things you haven’t done, focus on the next level you can take. Always have this in mind: we don’t have to accomplish everything at once; it is one step at a time.
This advice has kept me going. Everyone's journey is different; don’t look down on yourself or feel disappointed. One truth about social media is it only highlights the best moments and not the challenges. It is also full of fake lifestyles. It is very bad for you to compare your progress with someone else's; it can make you look down on yourself, and you will never appreciate your little efforts.

I have thousands of goals that I write down to achieve but have yet to achieve, but when I look at my list, I see I have made progress. There is this particular goal I am so determined to achieve before the years run out; with consistency and determination, I will accomplish it.
We are in the second quarter of the year; we should not limit ourselves to new opportunities by dwelling in the past. There is time; six months is enough to achieve those goals. Your story about the month is still written; the first quarter doesn’t have to determine how the second quarter will end. Take your time and reflect on your goals; celebrate yourself at every win. Profits are not always fast, but one thing is sure: they will surely come.
What goal did you set at the beginning of the year? Have you been able to make progress?
