For me it will be more than wearing a beautiful costume or standing out among other ladies; rather, it will be an opportunity to represent leadership, confidence, integrity, intelligence, and the power of a woman who knows her worth.
Just imagining this event, I picture a grand hall decorated with beautiful lights, chandeliers, sparkling beautiful flowers, and my amazing beautiful ladies with their favorite historical figures, authors, and fictional characters. Some will come as fearless warriors, queens, goddesses, and so on. There will be a story behind any outfit; it will make the event so special. This event will not be all about fashion; it will be celebrating the qualities that make women unique.
You will be asking why Cleopatra?
Since I was a kid, Cleopatra has always been my role model. She is an interesting historical figure to me because of her reputation. She is a queen who understands what leadership is, diplomacy, influence, and so on. Many people remember her because of her beauty, for she is the strongest woman I have ever seen. She ruled Egypt during a challenging period, and she worked tirelessly to protect her kingdom’s interest while finding a way to bind with a world full of powerful leaders.
Cleopatra made me realize that I am a goal getter. To be honest, a woman can be beautiful and also intelligent and brave at the same time. Yes, you can be confident without being arrogant and also be graceful without being weak. We exist in a world where the women are misjudged by social status, appearance, or relationships. One message: I will like my costume to communicate a different message, letting them know that a woman’s value is beyond what people see outside.
I will not say that Lady Cleopatra's lifestyle was so perfect or that every move and decision she made is right or should be celebrated. One thing about historical figures is their story is always complicated; it is among the things that make it interesting. I choose her because of her leadership skill.
How will I dress for the event?
Indeed, I am certain that I will want to make a memorable entrance, which is my intention. I am just imagining wearing a luxurious royal gown in red, a well-beaded gold bracelet, and a decorative headpiece inspired by ancient Egypt. I will wear makeup that will make me so unique. I aim not to win the best dress, but if one comes my way, I will appreciate it. I will be so delighted for the fact I put in time, creativity, and resources.
Why I would love to be in the meetup gathering is because there are a lot of ladies I would like to see, and seeing them is one thing I have longed for.
If this event is being hosted, I will dress like Cleopatra. The most exciting thing is that I will leave the event so happy, with a lot of memories to hold up to.
