Creo que las inconsistencias y la incapacidad de algunos para estar al nivel de la competición son claves. Por ejemplo, Tomás Rincón, no solo por el autogol, sino por su juego lento y poca recuperación. Si bien ha sido un jugador de renombre, ya es tiempo para que se retire completamente del fútbol, o como mínimo no ser convocado nuevamente.
Es un hecho que el futbol actual es muy joven. Con esto quiero decir que las selecciones deben renovar plantillas y dar más oportunidad a los juveniles. Hay jugadores que deben ser renovados, Soteldo también es uno de ellos, aunque por ser revulsivo es un buen cambio, pero como titular no rinde. Es demasiado inconsistente.
Ahora Venezuela, con esta derrota, ha sido sepultada a la antepenúltima casilla, por debajo del repechaje. Si las eliminatorias ya hubiesen acabado, simplemente estarían eliminados; afortunadamente, aún quedan 8 fechas que se disputarán el año entrante. Pero hay que ser honestos, el sueño mundialista se ve lejano, quizás para el 2030, cuando tengamos una completa renovación.
El punto acá no es ser optimista sino realista. En estos 12 partidos, la selección ha luchado con lo poco que tiene, y ha traído ilusión al país, porque históricamente son los que más luchas han dado en una clasificación mundialista. Sin embargo, las carencias siguen presentes, y parece ser algo de fábrica, porque siempre es lo mismo. Buenos delanteros, pocos medio campos y una defensa irregular.
Estoy convencido de que si no se trabaja en la zona media y se fortalece la defensa, seguiremos sin ver un mundial.
