The big bet for the Splinterlands economy is called Flywheel, i.e. the SPS->DEC conversion process which aims to burn the governance token in favor of the stablecoin. The goal is to create a sustainable and functional process so that all purchases made within the Splinterlands marketplace are made with $DEC tokens. In order for the Flywheel to function perfectly, some important conditions must be met:
- huge demand for $DEC
- peg of the stablecoin (1000 DEC = 1$)
The burning mechanism was launched when the demand for $DEC was not yet great, furthermore during the bearish market the peg was far away so only in the last few months, with a series of changes that made $DEC constantly deflationary, and the launch of LAND which accelerated the demand for the stablecoin (such as the purchase of parcels or the DEC->DEC-B conversion event), we began to observe the burning of $SPS.
The team itself now often resorts to burning SPS to obtain DEC, greatly speeding up the process. Today almost 55 million SPS have been burned by DEC genre, it is certainly an interesting figure even if at the moment not yet rewarding for the value of the token, but this is a figure that will tend to change over time, when greater initiatives will support players to burn SPS!
Some data to keep in mind for the future: the supply of SPS, although 3 billion, is still limited, in a few years SPS will no longer be issued and it will be interesting to observe what will happen if the demand for DEC continues to be high. It is useless, in my opinion, to make predictions about the price of $SPS in the future, there are so many variables that could determine its value. But if everything continues along this path, now outlined, without too many hitches, the current price of $0.02/0.03 will remain just a distant memory. And do you have the patience to wait for the inevitable? This is the question we need to ask ourselves.

La grande scommessa per l'economia di Splinterlands si chiama Flywheel, ossia il processo di conversione SPS->DEC che mira a bruciare il governance token in favore della stablecoin. L'obiettivo è creare un processo sostenibile e funzionale affinché tutti gli acquisti effettuati all'interno del mercato di Splinterlands siano effettuati con token $DEC. Affinché il Flywheel sia perfettamente funzionante, si devono verificare alcuni importanti condizioni:
- enorme richiesta di $DEC
- peg della stablecoin (1000 DEC = 1$)
Il meccanismo di burning è stato lanciato quando la richiesta di $DEC non era ancora grande, inoltre durante il mercato bearish il peg è stato lontano per cui solo negli ultimi mesi, con una serie di cambiamenti che hanno reso $DEC costantemente deflattivo, ed il lancio di LAND che ha accelerato la richiesta della stablecoin (come l'acquisto dei pacchi o l'evento di conversione DEC->DEC-B), abbiamo iniziato ad osservare il burning di $SPS.
Il team stesso oramai ricorre spesso al burning di SPS per ottenere DEC, accelerando di molto il processo. Oggi quasi 55 milioni di SPS sono stati bruciati per genere DEC, è certamente un dato interessante anche se al momento non ancora premiante per il valore del token, ma questo è un dato che tenderà a cambiare nel tempo, quando maggiori iniziative supporteranno i giocatori a bruciare SPS!
Alcuni dati da tenere ben in mente per il futuro: la supply di SPS seppure di 3 miliardi è comunque limitata, tra pochi anni non saranno più emessi SPS e sarà interessante osservare ciò che accadrà se la richiesta di DEC continuerà ad essere elevata. È inutile, a mio giudizio, fare previsioni sul prezzo di $SPS nel futuro, ci sono così tante variabili che potranno determinarne il valore. Ma se tutto proseguirà per questa strada, ormai delineata, senza troppi intoppi, il prezzo attuale di 0.02/0.03$ resterà solo un lontano ricordo. E tu hai la pazienza di aspettare l'inevitabile? Questa è la domanda che dobbiamo porci.
