Now everyone is saving for the future including me. We all want to save as much as possible so that our future us secure. Everyone wants to get to that milestone be it 10 Lakhs, 1 Crore or whatever it is, as early as possible. But with all these we are forgetting one thing to enjoy the present, enjoy the process instead of thinking only about the future.

One of my collegue is a great saver, he has saved a lot of money by ignoring a lot of things in life. He is working from the last 20 years but never traveled long distance or even outside India. But he has 2 houses, getting rent, good income and still he is continuing to invest 70% of his income. And I don't have a problem with that, as a finance guy I also ask people to save as much as possible.
But only savings and not enjoying is a worry sign. I get it, you want to enjoy the future but again who has seen the future. So it's better to enjoy today as well, and also save for the future. If you are compromising your today for tomorrow, then it's a worrying sign. We all want to save as much as possible for our kids but again I feel that's not necessary. They can also work their way to the top, we just have to make sure they get good education.
And that's why, I do the savings and along with that I travel a lot. Travelling give me peace of mind and thus I am using the money I earn for enjoyment. I don't buy expensive gadget or anything, I only invest in experiences by travelling. You can have any hobby which can give you enjoyment, we just have to find out that hobby and nothing else.
