Till few years back we used to get 2-3 variants of the cards like Visa, Mastercard and some others which were not so popular. The Visa and Mastercard were like the top networks of cards all over the world. But now it is changing in India. We have a Rupay network card which is on the rise.

In India especially, there are 2 things on the rise from the last few years and they are UPI and Rupay Networks. Almost half of the new cards are on Rupay network. Along with that people are actually getting the Rupay card because of the benefits coming with that card. For example, if you have a Rupay Credit Card, you can add it to the UPI network and pay using the UPI. That means even if you have to spend Rs 1 for buying anything you can use the credit card.
This actually has benefit a huge number of people including me. One of the great benefits is that all my petty spending is done under the credit card and I am getting the rewards too for it. And then my bank account statement is also cleaned because all my UPI transactions are done using the Rupay cards.
Also I got to save more using the Rupay Credit cards. For example, for my daughter school fee they charge 1.8% extra if I pay using the Credit card but if I pay using the Rupay Credit Card, they don't charge anything. So I am getting the rewards for my rupay transactions as well as the fees amount which I have to pay is also kept in the FD for like 30 days to get some extra money. And that's why I feel having a rupay credit card is great.
The Rupay network is also expanding, like they have started giving good lounge access, providing some offers here and there and other things. So in few years we might see that Rupay will cross the Visa and Mastercard in cards network in India.
